Bogy
In Bogy, the viewer is drawn into a moment of intensity and ambiguity on the golf course. The ghostly figure of a golfer, caught mid-swing, emerges from a flurry of motion and light. Painted in expressive strokes of deep purples, fiery reds, and pale whites, the composition blurs the lines between subject and background. A second, shadowy figure—possibly a caddy or spectator—watches from the periphery, half-submerged in abstraction.
This evocative work captures not only the physical act of the game but also its emotional weight—the tension of a critical shot, the solitary focus of the player, and the looming presence of a “bogey” on the scorecard. The dramatic contrast and dreamlike quality invite the viewer to reflect on both the sport and the inner landscape of competition.
